Bulk smoke alarm deal for CPIA members
As of 1 July 2016, landlords are required by law to ensure that their rental properties have smoke alarms. Long life (10-year) photoelectric alarms are required where there is no existing alarm or when replacing an existing alarm.
These long-life, photoelectric smoke alarms can cost about $45 each, but CPIA members who order a pack of 25 can get them for $27 each.
These are top quality alarms: Thermoptek technology combines optical sensing with thermal enhancement, providing fast reaction to both slow smouldering and fast flaming fires in a single alarm. It has a large cental reset button that is easy to reset so it is less likely to annoy tenants and lead to them taking them down.
If you are a CPIA member and want to order these Thermopteck sensors, visit www.nzpif.org.nz and log in. Click on Products and then Orders in the menu on the left hand side bar and order the smoke alarms under "option 2" as mentioned below.
Option 2 - An individual member orders and pays for 1 or more packs of 20 alarms ($500 per pack), which are delivered directly to their business address. (A set $10 delivery charge applies for any quantity of 1 to 4 packs. Orders of 5 packs + are free).
Each CPIA member pays NZPIF online by credit card at the time of ordering and the order goes directly to the supplier who will supply the smoke alarms to the address given on the order. .
