By being more involved, it’s a great way to get to know other members, create life-long friendships, hone your skills (inspiration to invest wisely in property) and also a great addition to your CV.
Meetings are the last Tuesday of each month at the CPIA office in Buchan Street, usually from 7.30pm to 9pm. Along with the 11 Executive members (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and six members), we have two office staff who manage the day-to-day operations of the CPIA.
Our role mainly includes:
Governance of the CPIA
Plan & manage events – forums, active investors, breakfast club
Sponsors – engage & relationship management
Maintenance of existing membership base and develop ways to increase it
Oversee production of CPIA’s quarterly magazine via the Magazine Sub-Committee
Management of Office Staff
Maintenance of accounts & budgets
Liaising with NZPIF
Manage Buchan Street building – tenant, insurance, maintenance etc…
On top of the monthly meetings, the role requires a few extra hours each month. It depends where your talents or interests lie. It could be helping at events, bookkeeping, attending sub-committee meetings, liaising with our office staff, sponsors and/or members, article writing, social media advertising or a myriad of other things.
